Bolton, CT — Bolton High School shut down Wednesday, March 5, after emergency crews responded to a power outage and smoke condition inside the building, officials said.
Firefighters arrived at the school on Brandy Street early in the morning after reports of an electrical failure caused by overnight storms. Crews found smoke inside and traced it to an electric motor.
Initially, school officials issued a two-hour delay, but later decided to cancel classes for the day. No injuries were reported.
Restoration efforts are underway, but officials have not confirmed when the building will reopen. Fire and electrical crews remain on-site assessing the situation.
