Bristol, CT – A school paraeducator was taken into custody Tuesday morning after police executed search warrants as part of an ongoing investigation into child pornography, authorities said.
Jacob Senick, 25, of Bristol, was arrested following a months-long probe that began last year when police received information about a local resident allegedly possessing child sexual abuse material. Detectives pursued the lead, ultimately securing both an arrest warrant for Senick and a search-and-seizure warrant for his residence, police said.
Senick worked as a paraprofessional at Destinations Academy, an alternative education program housed within Bristol Eastern High School. Investigators emphasized that, at this stage, they have found no evidence linking the alleged child pornography in his possession to minors within the school district.
Law enforcement officials did not disclose how they initially obtained the tip, nor did they detail the volume or nature of the alleged material. However, Senick faces a first-degree charge of possession of child sexual abuse material, a felony under Connecticut law.
He is being held on a $200,000 bond and is expected to appear in court in the coming days. Authorities said the investigation remains active, but they have not announced additional arrests or potential accomplices.
School district officials have not publicly commented on Senick’s employment status or whether he had been placed on administrative leave. It remains unclear whether parents or school staff were informed of the arrest prior to public disclosure.
No further details were available regarding Senick’s legal representation.
