Hartford, CT— The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is opening applications for its Transportation Maintenance Registered Apprenticeship Program.
The initiative is a paid, hands-on training designed to develop skilled road maintenance professionals across the state. The program offers a full year of structured on-the-job training combined with classroom instruction.
Upon completion, apprentices will be eligible for full-time employment as Transportation Maintainer 2s, responsible for essential roadway upkeep, equipment operation, and seasonal emergency response.
According to CTDOT, positions will be available at multiple garage locations statewide, providing trainees with practical field experience in road repair, highway maintenance, and winter operations.
Apprentices will learn to operate heavy machinery, assist in infrastructure repairs, and support Connecticut’s ongoing transportation projects.
