WESTBROOK, Conn. — Troy Bree, 58, of Groton, surrendered to authorities early Tuesday in connection with a deadly wrong-way crash on Interstate 95 that occurred in Westbrook on October 9, 2024, according to Connecticut State Police.
Bree turned himself in to Troop F – Westbrook at approximately 5:00 a.m. on March 25, 2025.
The arrest followed a months-long investigation and the issuance of a warrant linked to the two-vehicle collision.
He was charged under C.G.S. 14-237 with Driving the Wrong Way on a Limited Access Highway, Manslaughter in the Second Degree with a Motor Vehicle (C.G.S. 53a-56b), Misconduct with a Motor Vehicle (C.G.S. 53a-57), and Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree (C.G.S. 53a-63).
Bree was held on a $1,000,000 court-set bond and transported to Middletown Superior Court for arraignment the same day.
