Litchfield, CT – Joshua Pirie, 38, was taken into custody Friday afternoon following an arrest warrant tied to a burglary investigation from earlier in the week. K9 Krypto helped and Troopers from Troop L – Litchfield apprehended him at 2:56 p.m. and transported him for processing.
Connecticut State Police said Pirie faces a slate of charges, including burglary, reckless endangerment, and assault of public safety personnel. He was also charged with risk of injury to a child and cruelty to animals.
The investigation stemmed from an incident on March 11, 2025, leading to multiple violations under Connecticut General Statutes:

• C.G.S. 53a-62(a)(1) – Threatening 2nd Degree (Physical Threat)

• C.G.S. 53a-106 – Possession of Burglar Tools
• C.G.S. 53a-115 – Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
• C.G.S. 53a-167a – Interfering with an Officer
• C.G.S. 53a-167c – Assault of Public Safety Personnel
• C.G.S. 53a-182 – Disorderly Conduct
Pirie was booked and placed under a $250,000 court-set bond. He was scheduled to appear in Torrington Superior Court later that day on March 14, 2025. Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the ongoing investigation.
