Bridgeport, CT — A fugitive wanted in Ohio for alleged unlawful sexual conduct with a minor was taken into custody in Connecticut on Thursday, Feb. 27.
According to the Connecticut State Police, troopers from Troop G-Bridgeport responded to the Adult Probation Office in Bridgeport at approximately 3:21 p.m. after receiving information that the suspect was present.
Authorities identified the individual as Jhonny Sajamarca, 35, of Bridgeport.
A records check confirmed an active extraditable warrant issued by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio.
State police dispatch contacted Franklin County officials, who verified that they would seek Sajamarca’s extradition.
Troopers then detained him and transported him to Troop G for processing. He was charged under Connecticut General Statutes 54-170 for being a fugitive from justice.
Law enforcement set his bond at $500,000. Sajamarca remains in state custody and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Friday, Feb. 28.
Officials have not provided details on the timeline for his transfer to Ohio.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released additional information regarding the original case.
Extradition procedures will determine when Sajamarca is transported to face the charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
