New Haven, CT — Yale New Haven Health is investigating a cybersecurity breach that disrupted IT services across its system over the weekend, the organization said.
Federal authorities have been notified, and Mandiant, a cybersecurity firm, has been enlisted to determine the scope of the incident.
Yale New Haven Health said its digital and technology solutions team identified the issue and took immediate steps to mitigate its impact.
“The issue was a cybersecurity incident,” the organization confirmed.
Despite the breach, the health system emphasized that patient care remains unaffected.
“The patient portal and electronic medical records are running as normal,” Yale New Haven Health said, while teams are managing “the impact of phone and internet connection issues on patient care.”
The organization reported intermittent internet and application connectivity problems as teams work to restore access.
“We apologize for any inconvenience or delays these issues may cause, and we thank our staff, patients and community members for their patience as we work to restore full access across our systems,” the statement said.
Federal authorities have been informed of the incident, and Mandiant continues to investigate.
Yale New Haven Health said it would provide further updates as necessary.
