UNCASVILLE, CT — The Connecticut Sun added depth and experience to their roster Monday night by selecting three accomplished collegiate players during the 2025 WNBA Draft.
With back-to-back first-round picks, the Sun chose Aneesah Morrow and Saniya Rivers at seventh and eighth overall, respectively. Rayah Marshall was later selected with the 25th pick to round out Connecticut’s draft class.
Morrow, a forward from Louisiana State University, was the seventh overall selection. A Chicago native, Morrow began her collegiate career at DePaul University before transferring to LSU for her final two seasons. She set a program record at LSU with 1,211 minutes played in a single season.
One pick later, the Sun selected Saniya Rivers, a guard from North Carolina State University.
The Wilmington, North Carolina native helped lead the Wolfpack to the 2025 ACC regular season title and was instrumental in their 2024 Final Four appearance—the school’s first since 1998.
With the 25th pick, Connecticut added Rayah Marshall, a versatile center/forward from the University of Southern California.
The Los Angeles native became the eighth player in USC women’s basketball history to reach 1,000 career points and 1,000 rebounds. During her tenure, Marshall played a key role in back-to-back Elite Eight runs, the 2024 Pac-12 tournament win, and the 2025 Big Ten regular season championship.
The Sun will open their 2025 home season on May 18 against the Washington Mystics at 1 p.m. inside Mohegan Sun Arena.
